Belfast International Airport is situated 19 miles north of the city. Connections to the city centre are by taxi or bus. The Airbus service travels from the airport to the Europa Bus Centre at 30 minute intervals on weekdays. Belfast City Airport is mainly used for regional flights to UK destinations. It is located closer to the city center than Belfast International Airport, and the four-mile journey to the city can be made via train, bus or taxi.

Belfast has two major bus companies: Citybus and Ulsterbus. Citybus has an advanced booking kiosk at Donegall Square West and buses leave every 20 minutes from locations around City Hall. Ulsterbus services can be used for travel to other destinations in Northern Ireland and information regarding services can be obtained from the Europa Bus Centre.

Train links from Belfast include: Dublin, a two-hour journey; Derry; Bangor; and Larne. There are ferry connections with Stranraer in Scotland, the Isle of Man and Liverpool. Belfast to Dublin by car takes about 2 hours, 30 minutes.
